One of the most overlooked pieces of a winter wardrobe is the scarf. A scarf can bring a whole outfit together while still standing out on its own. Although it may seem like a fall item, scarves make for a year-round accessory. You might not think about scarves as a powerful tool in your cluttered closet or even wear them, but scarves are fashionable for any season if worn right.
Now, as we transition deeper into the frigid winter season, we suggest mixing up your wardrobe with a few scarves to update your style, keep you warm, and help keep sickness at bay.
The great thing about scarves is being able to style to them in multiple different styles. One of the most popular styles is the square blanket; A simple but modern look that puts your favorite scarf front and center. To do so, start with folding your scarf across and secure with a knot. Roll your scarf and follow up by wrapping it once around your neck. Make sure both ends of the scarf are facing backward. Finish with a loop and a tie.
We also suggest the revere drape, a great way to beat the flu season and protect your neck line. To do so, fold in half with one side long. Then, take your longest end and wrap it around your neck and under the long end. While using your short end, pull it under the long end. Cross it across the front of the scarf.
You should also consider getting a lighter scarf that you can use to pull up over your head. It’s a stylish way to show off your favorite colors or prints while keeping your head protected for the rain or snow.
